Each season has its own charm and offers a wide range of activities, exciting hikes, bike rides and visits to various attractions in and around Vejers Strand. Winter offers challenges with storms, cold, rainy days and occasional snow when walking on the beach or in the heath.

If you come back in the cozy warmth, you can paint your beautiful stone - or make some new ones out of your beach treasures and get very personal souvenirs for yourself and those who stay at home. Spring with the first warming rays of sunshine makes daffodils raise their heads everywhere, inviting you to just sit back and enjoy an ice cream or two and carries with it the promise of summer, enticing everyone to sunbathe or jump into the blue waves.

As the days get shorter, the chanterelles and Karl Johan mushrooms shine in the forest, and even the berry bushes invite you to stop along the way and take a taste. The special thing about the rutting season is the roar of the majestic red deer, which you can otherwise encounter all year round in and around Vejers. What can you do at a campsite by the North Sea?

A camping vacation by the North Sea offers experiences for all sizes, so whether you're a family with or without children, or if you're just an individual looking for a week of relaxation away from the city, you'll find experiences and options to suit your needs. Below you'll find some inspiration for our favorite experiences both in and out of nature:

Nature experiences by the North Sea:

• Visit Denmark's only red deer reserve. From Stjerne Camping near Oksbøl, you can easily take a trip to Oksbøl Crown Deer Reserve, which is home to a large population of red deer that can be seen in their natural habitat from one of the reserve's many lookouts. Few people have ever seen red deer up close, and it can be a great experience for children in particular to see the large and majestic animals.
• Take a trip to the Wadden Sea. South of Vejers, the North Sea Nature Park borders the Wadden Sea Nature Park, which has a unique population of birds and seals. The area is visited by many migratory birds throughout the year and you can, for example, hike out to Langli Island at low tide.
• Find your very own amber. The area around Vejers Strand is an ideal place to hunt for amber. Especially after a big windy storm, you might be in luck. In addition, it's beautiful to walk along the North Sea after a storm, and it can be a fun activity for the little ones to see what has washed ashore during the storm.
• Go fishing. There are options for both experienced and novice anglers. Surrounded by the North Sea, you can catch turbot from the shoreline, take a guided boat trip from one of the nearby harbors or even go to one of the surrounding Put & Take's.

Experiences for the whole family near Vejers

• Nature playgrounds. In the local area, you'll find a wealth of different nature playgrounds where the little ones can let their imagination run wild. Ask at reception and we can recommend several different locations.
• A trip for garden enthusiasts. If you love gardens, plants and flowers, Tambour Garden is the place to visit. There's plenty of beautiful and exciting things to look at for people of all ages, even dogs are welcome here, and there's also a playground and magic trail to keep the little ones occupied.
• Museum visits. Both Varde and Ribe have a wide variety of museums. The area offers some of the richest history in all of Denmark, and therefore you will also be able to gain a lot of exciting knowledge about Danish history by visiting e.g. HEX, Nymindegab Museum, Ribe Vikings and much more. The possibilities are endless, and we're happy to make even more recommendations for what's worth a visit.
• Experience remnants of a bygone era. By taking a walk along the West Coast, you can see parts of the Nazi Atlantic Wall in the form of old bunkers and their remains, which can still be found along the coast near Vejers Strand and other nearby locations. In addition, on a walk by Nymindegab, you can see examples of old 19th-century ese houses where fishermen used to store fishing nets, among other things.
