Sights around Oksbøl

The area around Oksbøl is characterized by a unique natural landscape, including a large open heathland and dunes. The area around Oksbøl is home to Denmark's only red deer reserve with a large population. Just a short drive from our campsite, you'll find one of the best opportunities to see large herds of red deer in all of Europe.

These magnificent animals are an impressive sight that can captivate even the most experienced nature lover. However, it can be a particularly unique experience for children who may never have seen such large animals in the wild before. The reserve is home to over 1,000 red deer, which can be seen wandering in large herds in all seasons. In several places in the reserve there are various lookout posts from which you can easily spot the animals. You can drive around the roads in the reserve on your own, but it is strongly recommended that you follow the instructions and avoid feeding the animals. These are wild animals and should be viewed in their natural habitat.

Another beautiful nature area can be found just north of Oksbøl at Filsø, which is one of Denmark's largest lakes. Due to the ideal conditions and wetlands, the area around Filsø is home to one of the most diverse populations of birds in the country. If you're lucky, you might spot an osprey or sea eagle in the wild. There are walkways along the lake, so you can walk around dry-shod and enjoy nature. There are also several birdwatching towers from which you can observe the area from a height and see how many different species you can spot.

Stjerne camping is located right by Vejers Strand, making it easy to go for a walk along the beautiful North Sea. However, if you prefer to drive on the beach, this is allowed on the southern stretch of Vejers Strand and a short drive north on Børsmose Strand.

If you're looking for cultural or historical experiences, there are also several options close to Oksbøl. Here you can visit the FLUGT museum, where you can learn more about Denmark's largest refugee camp for German refugees after World War II. The area around Oksbøl was home to more than 35,000 German refugees. Therefore, the German refugee cemetery in the area is also a place often visited by tourists.

We offer a range of different camping cabins suitable for groups, families or couples of different sizes. With us, you can stay in cabins from 2 people up to 5 people. In addition, we naturally offer pitches for people arriving in their own motorhome or caravan.

At our campsite you are only a short walk from Vejers Strand. In addition, you'll find a lot of facilities on site. For example, there is a supermarket where you can shop for dinner, snacks or an excursion. We also have a large communal kitchen where you and your family or friends can spend a nice time cooking together.

For the little ones, there are various play activities on site and an area with goats that they can visit. If you have a dog, we also have a dog agility area, so your pet can also get active during your stay. If you're the type to relax with a game of Petanque, you'll also have that option on site.
